NOVA invites you to another session as a part of our Risk Management series for senior leaders, which will be hosted by Billie O’Connor.
Our discussion will be held in the beautiful private Tasting Room at Fortnum & Mason, starting from 8.30am.
Around the table at this event we will discuss different examples, experiences and strategies some of our Members and Guests have employed, covering brands such as M&S, Burberry, New Look and more. Whether your experience is extensive as part of multi currency, global operations, or more SME starting to operate, sell or source in new markets, this will be a varied and interesting discussion on how you can mitigate risks in this area.
We will have a variety of senior finance leaders around the table, the majority of which are from Retail & Consumer organisations.
One of our guests is Louise Woodroffe who has 10 years of experience in Corporate Treasury, having started her career in Banking Finance and Treasury functions. Currently, she holds the position of Assistant Treasurer at Marks and Spencer’s, having joined the company in November 2021. She has extensive experience in treasury operations and management, specialising in funding and FX risk management.
Louise is passionate about the future of Treasury, having been part of the Future Leaders in Treasury working group since 2021 and more recently the ACT Member Advisory Panel, where she contributes to shaping the future of the treasury profession. Additionally, Louise is a CIMA qualified accountant and a Fellow of the ACT
We will also hear about some of the interesting Black Swan events that have affected the markets, and how some retailers managed (or not!) with these.
Our Partner Reece Dunlop will share some examples with us.
With over 10 years of experience managing FX payments, primarily within retail operations, Reece has a few stories to share! As more and more businesses look to geographical expansion for both sourcing and sales, the FX risk and management of currencies grows, so his insight can be useful for us to consider.
As Head of Retail, he has led initiatives to streamline payment processes, improve customer experience, and drive business growth. Reece has also worked closely with companies facing financial challenges, offering strategic support to optimise cash flow and enhance financial stability. His expertise in foreign exchange and leadership has been key in delivering effective solutions tailored to diverse business needs.
